Bahrain’s Kingdom has awarded its esteemed Golden License to four large-scale impact projects worth a total of $3.89 billion, which clearly demonstrates that it is one of the destinations attracting foreign investments and innovations.
The newly licensed projects include important growth areas such as commercial aviation, luxury hospitality, real estate development, and digital infrastructure. This strategic step will help to diversify the economy of the country and strengthen its role as a dynamic center for cross-border businesses and collaboration between the private and public sectors.
The list of high-value projects includes the advanced MRO center for regional aircrafts led by DHL. Additionally, Capital A—the parent company of AirAsia—is set to deploy comprehensive operational services encompassing passenger air transport, cargo logistics via Teleport, and aircraft engineering solutions.
In the real estate and tourism domain, Infracorp has partnered with Meliá to execute a striking waterfront venture situated on the Amwaj Islands. This upscale property will incorporate a five-star hotel alongside exclusive Meliá-branded residences. Complementing these is a forward-thinking urban venture by Digital City Bahrain, designed to construct an integrated, mixed-use ecosystem tailored for residential living, commercial enterprises, educational institutions, and technological innovation.
Government officials emphasized that these transformative projects are projected to generate thousands of specialized employment opportunities for local talent over the coming years. By fostering advanced technological integration and strengthening regional supply chains, the initiatives actively support Manama’s long-term vision of cultivating a globally competitive, knowledge-based economy driven by sustainable private-sector growth.
Bahrain’s Golden License initiative has become a cornerstone of the nation’s strategy to attract large-scale foreign investment. By offering streamlined regulatory pathways, priority land allocations, and integrated governmental support, the framework successfully minimizes administrative bottlenecks for qualifying enterprises that commit significant capital or generate substantial local employment. Analysts note that such targeted incentives continue to bolster investor confidence across the wider Gulf Cooperation Council region, paving the way for sustainable, knowledge-driven economic expansion.
