During routine inspections and sampling from marketing channels conducted by the Food Service at the Ministry of Health, Salmonella bacteria was found in two products from “Aljamel” (Aljamal) Tahini. The Ministry’s inspection also found that tahini products under the Aljamel Tahini brand were illegally brought into Israel, without the required approvals, and were produced under unknown conditions.
