ZURICH — Global football icons Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have secured their places on the 26-player shortlist for the 2026 FIFPRO Men’s World XI, continuing their remarkable presence at the pinnacle of professional football.
The prestigious shortlist was determined by votes from over 19,000 professional footballers across 75 countries, organized by the global players’ union. Alongside the veteran forwards, the selection features a strong contingent of rising international talent and established stars from top European leagues, including Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, Manchester City midfielder Rodri, and Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé.
The final World XI lineup is scheduled to be officially announced, highlighting the standout individual performances from both domestic leagues and international tournaments over the past competitive season.
