Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in energy, industry and mineral resources, with particular attention to strengthening energy security and maintaining stable supplies.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Minister of Energy and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, held talks in Riyadh with Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations and opportunities to deepen collaboration across key economic sectors. Both sides also exchanged views on regional developments and international matters of shared interest.
Energy cooperation was among the central topics, reflecting the importance of reliable supplies and coordination between the two neighbouring Gulf countries. The ministers discussed joint efforts to support energy security and promote stability in supply, although no specific agreements or new initiatives were announced in the statement.
Saudi Arabia and Kuwait maintain longstanding ties, with energy playing a significant role in their economic relationship. Both countries are major participants in the Gulf energy sector and have shared interests in maintaining reliable production, supply chains and market stability.
Industrial development and mineral resources were also included in the discussions. These sectors offer potential areas for closer engagement as both countries pursue economic development and seek to broaden their industrial capabilities. Cooperation can involve exchanging expertise, strengthening commercial links and identifying opportunities that support shared economic priorities.
The talks also covered the latest developments across the region. The ministers reviewed regional and international issues of mutual interest, reflecting the broader diplomatic relationship between Riyadh and Kuwait City.
Their discussions highlighted the connection between economic cooperation and regional stability, particularly in areas such as energy supply, industrial growth and strategic resources. Maintaining dialogue on these issues remains relevant to both countries as they respond to changing regional and international conditions.
The meeting forms part of ongoing engagement between Saudi and Kuwaiti officials to advance common interests and explore ways to strengthen coordination. However, the official statement did not disclose details of specific projects, investment commitments or a timetable for further initiatives arising from the talks.
Saudi Arabia and Kuwait share geographic proximity, economic links and membership in regional organisations, including the Gulf Cooperation Council. Their cooperation across energy and other sectors remains an important element of their bilateral relationship.
The Riyadh meeting concluded with discussions covering both economic priorities and wider regional affairs, reaffirming the two countries’ interest in maintaining close coordination and advancing shared objectives.
