The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, met on Monday, 22 June 2026, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, on the sidelines of the Arab Consultative Meeting and the 165th Ordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Ministerial Level, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Kingdom of Bahrain and to expand prospects for cooperation across various fields in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples. They also emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and consultation on issues of common interest.
The two ministers further reviewed current regional and international developments and exchanged views on the most significant challenges facing the region. In this context, they underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as the primary means of addressing crises and promoting security and stability.
Both ministers reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to supporting efforts aimed at consolidating stability in the region, contributing to greater development and prosperity for its peoples, and advancing regional peace and security.
